Services and Programs
Services are clinic based, school based, home support and in the community (eg: child care centres).
OT services include:
- ASSESS your child’s functional performance and developmental skills, using formal standardised assessments and observations (incorporating the knowledge of foundation skills). Examples include: developmental assessments, school readiness assessments, sensory evaluations, handwriting, school-age assessment
- Liaise and consult with the child and family
- Liaise and consult with any other relevant persons identified by the family (eg:paediatricians, GPs, teachers, carers, speech pathologists, learning support teachers, guidance officers, psychologists)
- Develop programs to assist and enhance function, performance and foundation skills
- Implement therapy intervention and strategies when required
- Make recommendations for the environment, equipment or materials that may assist the child’s performance
- Perform visits to school, preschool, kindy, care centres or home if required
- School environment consultations
- Evaluations/consultations with written reports based on standardized testing, clinical observation and parent interview.
- Sensory Processing Therapy - tools and environment modifications; sensory diet; strategies for home and school
- Fine motor and Gross Motor Skills Therapy
- Balance and Upper Body Strengthening
- Motor Coordination & Planning Skills
- Visual Motor, Spatial and Perceptual Skills
- Social learning skills programs
- Self-Help (feeding, dressing and grooming)
- School Preparation/readiness and organisation skills
- Attention difficulties and working memory skills
- Following directions and problem solving
- Individual or group programs
- Specialist service for kids with Learning Disability in writing - joint assessment and report by OT and psychologist
- Specialist service for kids with Learning Disability in reading - joint assessment with speech pathologist, psychologist & OT
