Sylvana Spina, Occupational TherapistManager and founder of Abilities Therapy
Sylvana has over 30 years experience working in paediatrics with children and their families. She's worked in Qld community health, many schools (local private and state schools), disability services, education departments in Queensland and New York, CP League in Brooklyn, conducted research in children's hospitals, as well as run a private practice for over 20 years. Sylvana loves to work collaboratively with parents, kids, schools and other professionals and understands how this benefits kids and all involved. Sylvana is passionate about her work and strives for professional improvement in order to provide the best practice possible to support children in achieving their life goals and roles. Her OT service, Abilities Therapy, aims to support families, schools and other professionals in developing a child or adolescent's functional life skills. Her areas of specialty and interests are in the development of social and emotional skills, handwriting, development, motor planning, sensory regulation (including the Alert program and sensory diets as well as school environments), executive functioning and organisation, ASD, visual processing, attention deficit and school readiness just to name a few! Sylvana is married with 4 children and understands the challenges and demands of busy families and households. Sylvana completed her degree with First Class Honours at the University of Queensland.
Donnie Ciobo - Admin officer and accounts
Donnie has worked with Abilities Therapy for over 4 years and evjoys connecting with families, often as the first point of contact. Donnie has worked in administration for over 20 years in her family business and Education Queensland. She can help you with any booking and accounts query and has a pleasant, caring and sensitive approach to all situations.
